How to archive your mailchimp contacts

Struggling to keep your Mailchimp costs down. In Mailchimp you are paying for your contacts, not subscribers. An important action to regularly undertake is archive contacts that are not subscribers, as you can't email them, so save your money and simply archive. Do not delete them (that is another post for another day!)

Here are simple instructions to archive contacts in your Mailchimp.

Click on your Audience Icon
Click on All Contacts, or on the right-hand side button 'View All Contacts'
In sub-menu, click on New Segment
Click on Email Marketing Status is the status drop-down menu to show options
Select Unsubscribed, Non-Subscribed and Cleaned
In the next window view, in the first column click the arrow and select all
A new menu will show up on top, click on the Actions drop down arrow
Select Archive

Please note that you can always unarchive people later if needed.

How to set up canned responses in your MAC Mail

How to set up canned responses in your MAC mail. A great time saver in business, especially when sending the same frequent email to multiple parties is to create a template or as it’s know as a ‘Canned Response’.

Here are the steps to creating your MAC Mail Canned Response.

Open your MAC Mail

Go to your menu header ‘Mail’

Click on ‘Preferences’

Click on Signatures

Click on your email account that you would most likely send that email from.

Click on the ‘+’ to add a new signature

Title your new template email, in my example I have used ‘VA Service Enquiry’

Write your 'canned' response

Go back to your emails

Open and email to send, click on the 'signature' drop down menu and select your 'canned' response

Make any necessarily adjustment to personalise it to your sender

Send!

How to download videos from Closed Facebook Groups

Creating Facebook lives or videos in a private Facebook group, however you want to repurpose it for elsewhere. Here are some instructions on how to download videos from closed Facebook groups.

To do this, you need to use Google Chrome.

1. Open up your video in your Facebook group.

2. Click to open the video to the full page view.

3. Right click on the video to show the video URL.

4. Copy the URL.

5. Paste the URL into a new browser address bar, and replace the ‘www’ with ‘m’.

6. The page will reload.

7. Click the right mouse button and click on Inspect

8. A windowpane will appear the bottom of your screen

9. Click on the Network tab

10. Click on the sub tab Media

11. The start playing the video and you will see the name appear in the bottom section of the window pane

12. Double click on the video name and it will open into a new browser page

Click on the 3 dots and click download.

Now you can repurpose and reuse your video elsewhere.

How to create a landing page in Mailchimp

What are landing pages and why do businesses use them?

A landing page allows you to create a page focusing on an offer that your target audience wants. As a landing page is created only specifically for content of 'value' to your audience, it captures all relevant information on that page and avoids your target market getting distracted by other pages on your website.

How many times have you landed on a website and gone to do something specific and ended up somewhere completely different, because you were distracted by other areas of the website. A landing page helps eliminate those distracts for your audience.

Landing Pages and Mailchimp

Mailchimp help support small businesses, especially with low budgets and offer some of their amazing features under their free option level, and more premium features on their paid levels.

Landing pages are great for building a buzz on products, or getting a key message out to your audience.

Mailchimp had templates to cater to some of the following:

How to set up your Mailchimp landing page

Sign into your Mailchimp account

Click on the CREATE dropdown menu button

Click on LANDING PAGE

Name your landing page AND select the AUDIENCE group the landing page will be directing sign ups to.

Click the BEGIN button

You will now land at the following page.

SELECT A TEMPLATE you want to use. You can edit any template, so choose the one that is a style you like. Look at the names of the templates, which will help give you an indication on what they’ll achieve for you. For this example I have selected GROW YOUR LIST blank template.

Click on the LOGO to add your logo (or header image if desired)

EDIT YOUR TITLE

Add in your ‘pitch’ for your audience. You can edit the style and colours etc on the right hand side, just as you would in a campaign (newsletter) creation.

CLICK ON THE SIGN UP FORM SECTION

On the right hand side are the options to show what you can include. Eg: You can add FIRST NAME and you can make it a required field.

You can also adjust your button words SUBSCRIBE

To adjust the style of the SIGN UP FORM, click on the middle tab called STYLE.

Once finished click SAVE & CLOSE.

TO ADD YOUR BACKGROUND, click to the MAIN MENU and click on DESIGN tab and then PAGE, this will allow you to add your background image or colour.

If at any stage you want or need to change any section of your landing page, you can do so through this page.

TO REMOVE THE MAILCHIMP LOGO at the footer of the landing page and privacy information, you need to have a paid account, and you can simply click the option off.

If at any stage you want to PREVIEW your landing page, you can click PREVIEW on the top right hand side of your Mailchimp page.

Once you are happy with your landing page, click SAVE.

Now you need to give your page a TITLE.

You can add a custom URL. You can connect it to your website, however this is a high paid level.

You can add your website address and landing page name to it, as shown below.

Once completed, CLICK ON PUBLISH.

Your landing URL link is now available for you to copy and use.

How to link your Squarespace to Mailchimp

For those who are setting up websites using Squarespace but struggling on how to link it to the Mailchimp account. Here are some instruction to help you confidently link them.

#1. Log into your Squarespace Account

#2. Go to the page you want to add your sign up bar in

#3. Edit your page

#4. Click the right ‘+’ icon the top right hand side

#5. Scroll down to the MORE section

#6. Click on Newsletter icon and drag it to where you want to add it

#7. Enter in your display details

#8. Click on the second tab Storage. You will the platforms you can connect to. If you can’t click the plug icon on the squarespace campaign and the others should appear.
